Remember, UPSC civil services exam matters your knowledge and exam skills equally. When checking the exam preparation strategy from Karnataka toppers, we found certain important mains exam hall tips. These tips help in boosting your UPSC main exam marks.
Organize your time properly:
In UPSC CSE (civil service examination), the maximum score for general studies paper is 250 marks. There will be around 20 questions in each paper. The candidates are given 3 hours that is 180 minutes to complete the paper. If all the questions are allotted the same marks, you can take about 9 minutes to complete answering each question. But if you find the marks differing from one question to another, you have to fix time accordingly. It is not easy to set time for each question. It is recommended to set hourly target.
Plan answer structure:
The answer should have a clear framework. When the examiner checks your paper, he/she should know that you know the answer well. They should enjoy reading your answer. If your framework is not well structured, it will be a pain for the examiner to check your paper.
Write answers based on keywords and directives:
Always be focused. Do not repeat the same point. Choose particular keywords utilized in the question. Ensure to focus on important words. Answer according to the question. Do not add any irrelevant points to the answer. The answer should have only necessary points.
Give attention-seeking introduction:
Ensure to frame an introduction in the form of hint. It should convey the message that you are going to discuss in the body. You should attract the reader in the first two lines and they should know what you are going to talk about.
Associate your replies with current affairs:
Most of the questions will be connected to current affairs in General Studies. Candidates should associate static details with current affairs.
